Kind act repaid

To the editor:

I would like to thank the gentleman who paid for my groceries at Checkers.

It was the day before the predicted ice storm, and the checkout lines were extremely long. A gentleman with one item started to the back of the line, and I invited him to go ahead of me.

I started to pay the clerk for my groceries and he told me the groceries had been paid for. The unknown gentleman handed me the paid receipt, wished me a Merry Christmas and left the store.

I want the gentleman to be assured his kindness will be passed on to someone else. A very blessed holiday to the generous gentleman.

Rusty Moore,

Lawrence
