I-70 to reopen at 11 p.m.

The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced that Interstate 70 will re-open at approximately 11 p.m., following a large, multi-vehicle accident this afternoon. Eastbound and westbound traffic on I-70 has been closed from milepost 313/K-177 to milepost 353/Auburn Road to K/30 at Maple Hill for most of the day.

Other roads that were closed to due inclement weather have opened.

K-4/Oakland Expressway is now open. It had been closed in east Topeka between Seward Avenue and US-24, and for 10 miles between Eskridge and the west K-4/K-99 junction in Wabaunsee County.

K-99 is now open. It was closed between the west K-4/K-99 junction and the southern limits of Alma.

Wichita interchanges at mile markers 042, 045 and 050 are now open. The toll plazas had been closed earlier this evening.

KDOT advises motorists to be aware of wind gusts and drifting snow.
