Christmas dinner donations needed

The Community Christmas Dinner still is in need of food.

Kent Ely, an organizer, said Monday that the dinner was short 22 turkeys and 14 hams. Donations of money also would be accepted.

The dinner is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 25 at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vt. It is open to the public and typically serves about 700 people.

Anyone wanting to donate turkeys or hams is asked to call Ely at 760-2943 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. today or Wednesday to make arrangements.
