A bad deal
To the editor:
It appears that none of the commissioners had Wal-Mart stock. It is inconceivable that the commissioners want to let the Deciphera business deal stand. Bringing business to Lawrence through secret meeting arrangements and offering a special tax deal by a commissioner and mayor that are financially involved spells trouble for Lawrence.
What respectable company would accept a financial deal involving these atrocities? Lawrence needs businesses, jobs and taxes, not two out of three. It is time for Deciphera to “cut and run.”
