Art & Insight owner presents at meeting

Libby Schmanke, a board certified art therapist, attended the annual conference of the American Art Therapy Association, conducted Nov. 14-18 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Schmanke was chosen by a peer-review panel to present her paper on developing a project to provide art therapy for students of Haskell Indian Nations University. While at the conference, Schmanke attended training in using art therapy to address adult developmental issues such as resolution of childhood trauma and defining spirituality in midlife.

Schmanke is the sole proprietor of Art & Insight, a creative arts studio and private practice in art therapy at 4824 Quail Crest Place.

She also is on the faculty of the graduate art therapy program at Emporia State University.
