Van Go Mobile Arts is hosting its first alumni reunion Friday.
Van Go, a nonprofit organization, has been serving at-risk Douglas County youths for more than a decade by providing arts-based employment. Works by the young artists, such as painted murals, benches and newspaper stands, are sold and displayed throughout Lawrence.
The reunion will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Van Go, 715 N.J. The event will feature keynote speaker Amie Spitler, a former apprentice from Van Go's signature program, Jobs in the Arts Make Sense. Spitler now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and soon will enter graduate school.
Pizza and dessert will be served.
