Tonganoxie man hurt in weekend explosion

A 32-year-old Tonganoxie man was transported to Kansas University Medical Center on Saturday after an explosion at his residence on State Avenue, according to the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office.

About 5:30 p.m., Lane Stamper was welding on a diesel fuel tank in his garage when the tank exploded, the Sheriff’s Office reported. Stamper was taken by Leavenworth County EMS to KU Medical Center. His condition was unavailable Monday.
