Volunteers needed to help donors at blood drive

The American Red Cross Douglas County Blood Drive needs volunteers to escort donors, set up the facility or work in the canteen serving food. Volunteers are needed at various times from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 12-13 at First Christian Church at 10th and Kentucky streets in Lawrence.

¢ Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging is in need of a Spanish interpreter to work with a client on a consistent basis.

¢ Douglas County Senior Services is looking for individuals to help distribute gift and food items to seniors during the holidays.

¢ Lawrence Art Center’s Holiday Shop needs volunteers Friday and Saturday. Volunteers will assist children with shopping for gifts to surprise mom, dad or even the family pet and help them wrap their gifts. Elves and gift wrappers, 16 years or older, are needed in two-hour shifts.

¢ Jubilee Cafe needs volunteers to serve breakfast to in-need community members from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. every Tuesday and Friday during the holidays at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vt.

¢ Dream Factory of Greater Kansas City, a nonprofit that provides opportunities for children with life-altering illnesses, is in need of volunteers to assist with advertising, fundraising and special event assistance.
