Mentoring agency names executive director

Patti Broyles has been named executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County.

Broyles is a former executive director of the Kansas City Missouri Film Office that helped promote and coordinate events for the Kansas City film market.

Broyles has said that her main goal as executive director would be to increase volunteer recruitment and to create a new job shadowing program, Little Jobs, Big Futures. The program would pair professional volunteers with teens to expose them to their career for one hour a week.

Since 1991, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County has partnered more than 2,000 youths, ages 5 to 17, with adult mentors known as “Big Brothers” and “Big Sisters.” It operates on an annual budget of approximately $460,000 and employs 13 people.
