Goodbye, Rove

To the editor:

“Good riddance and please don’t come back!” I’m referring to the recent departure of Karl Rove, the former political strategist and adviser to President Bush. Mr. Rove’s resignation is the best news Democrats have had in weeks.

Mr. Rove, alias “Dr. Evil,” “Master of Disaster,” etc.., has been a proverbial thorn in the side of Democrats from Washington, D.C., to Texas for nearly 15 years.

Love him or loathe him, Karl Rove is a “political enigma” rarely seen in American politics.

Worth noting, Mr. Rove has attended five different colleges and universities and has yet to obtain a degree. However, most formally educated people, including yours truly, would aptly admit that the significance of a college degree is overrated!

Have we heard the last of “Dr. Rove”? I doubt it! Most likely, Mr. Rove will write a book and embark on a “bountiful lecture tour.”

After that, “the good doctor” will gravitate toward “the color of money.” Can you blame him?

Robert Hinton,
