Full recovery expected for injured player

A Gardner-Edgerton High School soccer player taken to a Kansas City area hospital Tuesday night after he was injured in a game is expected to make a full recovery, a school spokesman said.

The player was a senior; his name was not released. He suffered a concussion, said Kent Glaser, high school athletic director and associate principal, and was expected to have been released Wednesday night.

The student was flown to Kansas University Hospital after he was injured in a game with Eudora High School.

On Friday, another soccer player suffered a similar injury during a scrimmage, Glaser said. That player also was flown to a hospital but has since been released.
