Kansas University student Spencer Lott, creator of Squiggle Puppet Productions, will present puppet shows for children on five Saturdays this fall at Oread Books in the Kansas Union, 1301 Jayhawk Blvd.

The events are suitable for children of all ages and are free. The presentations will vary in content; two include puppet-making workshops for audience members. The first event was Saturday.

All other events are from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Sept. 29 (includes puppet-making workshop), Oct. 20, Nov. 10 and Dec. 1 (includes puppet-making workshop).

Lott is a graduate of Free State High School and is pursuing a degree in theater and film at KU. In 2006, he was one of 50 participants from the United States and Canada to travel to New York for a puppeteer training workshop led by “Sesame Street” “Muppeteers.” He is affiliated with Paul Mesner Puppets in Kansas City, Mo.
