Lawrence resident Gary P. Stussie, senior contracts administrator for Vangent Inc., recently received designation as a certified federal contracts manager (CFCM) by the National Contract Management Association.

Stussie earned the designation by completing a program of continuing education and formal testing in federal contract management and business administration.

Stussie, a retired Navy officer, worked as an administrative contracting officer and project officer in the areas of design, acquisition and testing of ships and antisubmarine warfare systems.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Kansas University and has graduate degrees from Purdue University and the University of Southern Mississippi.

Stussie works in Vangent’s center in the East Hills Business Park.
