Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 1997 Dodge Intrepid was stolen from a 55-year-old Conway, Mo., man in the 1900 block of West 31st Street between noon and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle is valued at $1,000.

¢ A 2000 Ford Mustang was stolen from a 20-year-old Lawrence man in the 1500 block of Tennessee Street between 2 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle is valued at $10,000.

Accidents

¢ An accident caused by a truck driver who fell asleep at the wheel held up traffic Thursday morning on the Kansas Turnpike. The accident, which involved three vehicles, occurred around 5:30 a.m. about two miles from the east Lawrence exit at Highway 32.

According to a Turnpike accident report, Larry D. Tucker, 39, Emporia, was eastbound when he went to the right shoulder, overcorrected and went into the westbound lanes, jackknifed and blocked traffic.

A 2005 Toyota driven by Richard Dalman, 41, of Kearney, Mo., and a 2004 semitrailer driven by Joseph Baise, 43, of Glasgow, Ky., both struck the back of Tucker’s semitrailer. No one was injured in the incident.
