To the editor:

Very interesting to see in the Saturday Column of Aug. 11 the editor’s perspective on residents in Lawrence being “so set in their ways, so mean-spirited, that if they don’t get their way, they will do what they can to damage, weaken or defeat those with opposing views.” I agree.

As a student at the Kansas University Medical Center with great respect for the leadership of that institution, I have thought all these same things of the editor himself. Week after week in his column, he has criticized and personally attacked the leadership at KU Medical Center, all because he disagrees with a fairly technical business affiliation that has nothing to do with him, and everything to do with advancing health and research in Kansas.

Practice what you preach, Mr. Editor.
