Faculty influence
To the editor:
The most recent ACADEME, Bulletin of the American Association of University Professors, honors 50-year members, two of whom are distinguished retired Kansas University faculty: Grant Goodman and Richard Moore. These men have kept the faith through the years and are reminders that KU once had a vigorous and influential chapter of the organization, now long dormant.
One can only hope that younger KU faculty have some slight understanding of what Grant and Dick and others like them have done to support the best values of a free and humane tradition of higher education in the United States of which they are the beneficiaries.
