To the editor:

If Academy Awards were given for Summer Youth Theatre, then the Lawrence Arts Center’s production of “My Fair Lady” would win awards in every category. I cannot imagine the long hours of work, dedication and commitment that must have gone into putting this massive work of art together.

The amount of dialogue alone must have been a huge challenge for the cast, speaking and singing in the language of the time and place. Bravo to everyone who performed so brilliantly! The artistic staff (great costumes and choreography), production crew (imaginative staging) and orchestra (fine musical direction) are also to be congratulated and thanked for their wonderful contributions to this outstanding show.

Aren’t we lucky to live in Lawrence and have all these smart and talented people to entertain us!
