Youths can gain experience at library

Lawrence Public Library is looking for summer youth volunteers ages 13 to 18 to help with children’s and teen programming and other miscellaneous tasks. Applications may be picked up at the library, 707 Vt., at the children’s desk or in The Zone, and must be returned by May 21.

Immediate volunteer needs

¢ Habitat for Humanity seeks volunteers to help as office assistants on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.

¢ The RSVP Program is seeking volunteers who are 55 or older. The program uses the unique talents, skills and experiences of volunteers to improve the lives of men, women and children in our community.

Opportunities include helping children and individuals with disabilities, gardening, serving as a museum docent, helping others learn job skills and more. Volunteers choose their hours and job, and supplemental insurance coverage is available.

¢ Babcock Resident Services seeks four to five volunteer movers to move two elderly people from one apartment to another in the same building. All work is inside, there are no heavy appliances and a moving dolly will be provided.
