Eric Unrein, who operates the Midas shop in Lawrence, was named North American Rookie Dealer of the Year by the company at its recent dealer convention in Reno, Nev.

Unrein, who is in his first full year as a Midas franchise owner, also has shops in Topeka, Manhattan and Overland Park. The company presented him with the award based on his performance involving shop operations, retail sales, customer satisfaction and overall image.

Midas provides automotive services through nearly 2,600 Midas shops worldwide.
