Islam expert discusses key tenets of faith

Noted Islam authority, anthropologist, writer and filmmaker Akbar Ahmed is featured beginning tonight on a special “River City Weekly” encore.

Ahmed – Ibn Khaldun chairman of Islamic studies and professor of international relations at American University in Washington, D.C., and a former high commissioner of Pakistan to Great Britain – discusses key tenets of the Muslim faith, the necessity of interfaith dialogue and meeting the challenge of inclusion in a post-Sept. 11 world.
