Dental clinic to help cover uninsured
As part of Cover the Uninsured Week, the Douglas County Dental Clinic will set up a table Sunday outside of Checkers Food at 2300 La.
The table will have HealthWave applications for children and adults. It will also have information on the uninsured population, the clinic and oral health care.
The first 50 children who come by the table will receive free goody bags with toothbrushes, toothpaste, timers and floss. For the rest of the day, free toothbrushes will be available to adults and children while they last.
Cover the Uninsured Week is a nonpartisan campaign organized by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to advocate for health coverage for all Americans.
The Douglas County Dental Clinic serves residents of the county that are uninsured and meet federal poverty guidelines.
