Older volunteers needed for RSVP

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program – RSVP – is seeking participants who are 55 or older. The program uses the talents, skills and experiences of older volunteers to improve the lives of men, women and children in our community. Opportunities include helping children or individuals with disabilities, gardening, museum docent, helping others learn job skills and more.

Volunteers can choose the job and hours. Supplemental insurance coverage is available.

Immediate volunteer needs

¢ Volunteers are needed to collect recyclable items within an independent living facility in west Lawrence. Volunteers are needed daily to collect recyclables from each of the three floors of the building and move them to a central point where they will be picked up by another service. ¢ Babcock Resident Services seeks four to five volunteer movers to move two elderly people from one apartment to another in the same building. All work is inside, there are no heavy appliances, and a dolly will be provided. To help, contact Gayle Sigurdson, 832-1692.
