South Junior High sets Cougar Fun Run

South Junior High School’s annual Cougar Fun Run will be Friday at the school.

It will be the last run at the existing school, which is being replaced by a new building to its northeast next fall.

The Cougar Fun Run is the last one that will be organized by Ron Garvin, a physical education teacher who is retiring this year.

Students at the school are collecting canned goods as a donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Ronald McDonald Houses provide a place to stay for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

The one-mile run will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the school.
