Lawrence High senior Abby Vestal officially will become the first full-time female player in the American Professional Football League.

Vestal will sign a contract to kick for the Topeka-based Kansas Koyotes today at an open press conference at Lawrence High.

In addition to signing the contract, Vestal also will pen a letter of intent to play soccer for Johnson County Community College on Friday.
