Pedestrian’s recovery continues after collision

A Lawrence woman is out of the hospital but still recovering from injuries she suffered when she was struck by a car March 30.

Kathleen Draskovich, 52, spent eight days at Lawrence Memorial Hospital where she underwent treatment for multiple pelvic fractures, ligament and tendon damage in her right knee, and numerous bruises and lacerations.

She was still walking with the help of a walker Tuesday afternoon.

“It’s amazing how devastating something like this is,” she said.

Draskovich was in a crosswalk at Eighth and New Hampshire streets on the evening of March 30 when a car hit her, throwing her several feet.

Police cited the driver for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
