The third annual Volunteer Fair will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt. The fair, put on by the Roger Hill Volunteer Center and the library, will feature 40 community nonprofit organizations. Dozens of volunteer coordinators will be on hand to speak about their program’s volunteer needs and how individuals can get involved.

Immediate volunteer needs

¢ Kansas Relays needs volunteers for the 80th anniversary of the event. Volunteers are needed to help work four-hour shifts during the periods of 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. To help, contact Debbie Luman at 864-3486 or dluman@ku.edu.

¢ Lawrence Community Shelter seeks volunteers to help days or evenings at the shelter preparing meals, assisting with laundry, picking up food and pastries, fundraising, helping with one-time events, driving guests to appointments, visiting with guests and more. ¢ Join volunteers at 9 a.m. April 28 at Clinton Lake Overlook Park Shelter 1 for the annual Clinton Lake Clean-up. Volunteers will receive a free hot dog lunch and will have the opportunity to find cash-for-trash coupons. To help, contact Kipp Walters at 843-7665.

¢ Success by 6 Coalition of Lawrence seeks volunteers to assist with child care on behalf of parents attending the Parenting with Love and Logic workshop. Several volunteers are needed to care for children from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays through May 12. Some training will be provided.
