To the editor:

This letter is in response to Mr. Wahl’s letter of April 10. The letter attacks Nancy Pelosi and her trip to the Middle East.

Since when is diplomacy and friendly negotiating so wrong?

Mr. Wahl fails to mention that four Republicans also visited the Middle East. So that did not discredit the administration, but Pelosi did? Also, Mr. Wahl fails to mention that five or six hours later, Iran released the British sailors – just a coincidence or another plot to discredit George Bush? Maybe Pelosi and the Republicans who went were carrying out the voters’ wishes. Did you forget how the last election went?

Mr. Wahl says we don’t need dissension within our borders. Well, that is a nice idea, but, like it or not, there is dissension because people are fed up with war and turmoil, and we need more ambassadors of peace instead of the heavy-handed approach to foreign policy.

The only person to discredit and embarrass George Bush is George Bush!
