LHS counselor receives Legacy Award
Linda Allen, a Lawrence High School counselor, was honored this week with the Legacy Award by the Lawrence Education Association and KU Credit Union.
The award honors certified staff members who make a significant effect on the lives of students by working tirelessly to assure student success.
Adela Solis, LEA president, and Kirsten Flory, KU Credit Union business development representative, who presented the award, said Allen works many hours outside the school day and plays a major role as an advocate for students.
Allen, who has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Kansas University, worked as a counselor in Basehor before joining the LHS staff 27 years ago.
