Myers to give annual Dole Lecture at KU

Gen. Richard Myers, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and an alumnus of Kansas State University, will deliver this year’s Dole Lecture at Kansas University.

The lecture, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. May 2 at the Dole Institute of Politics, is free to the public, but tickets are required. This is the fourth year for the Dole Lecture, with previous speakers including former President Bill Clinton, who delivered the inaugural lecture in 2004, and former Sen. Bob Dole.

Myers was chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from October 2001 to September 2005 and oversaw the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. He joined the Air Force in 1965 and earned a master’s degree from Auburn University while in the service.

Tickets are available at the Dole Institute. More information is available at www.doleinstitute.org.
