Protection One Inc., a Lawrence-based provider of monitored-security services, announces the appointment of a new member to its board of directors: Thomas J. Russo, a partner in RAVE, a privately held company that specializes in quality assurance evaluations and satisfaction surveys for the hospitality, restaurant and retail industries.

He also is a board member for the National Restaurant Association and for Oneida Ltd.

Russo’s career spans more than 30 years in domestic and international food service, lodging and consumer goods and has included management, executive and chairman positions at Howard Johnson’s, Ponderosa, Hanson Industries Housewares Group and Miami Subs.

Protection One’s board now has nine members.
