Thursday is the deadline for signing up to participate in the Sertoma Club’s fifth-annual Corporate Cookoff & Mixer, to be conducted from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 11 at Broken Arrow Park.

The event allows area businesses to compete in three categories: Best Food, Best Booth and People’s Choice. Proceeds support Sertoma’s co-sponsorship of the Schiefelbusch Communication Camp for communication-challenged youth.

¢ Best Food: Golf USA, led by store owner Kyle Taylor (shown above, with his trophy).

¢ Best Booth: CornerBank.

¢ People’s Choice: Schroeder Chiropractic Wellness Center.

The Cookoff leads up to Sertoma’s 48 BBQ event, which will be conducted May 12 at the park. For that competition, winners selected from among 48 contestants will share in $4,800 in prize money and qualify to compete at the American Royal, in Kansas City, Mo.
