Harley-Davidson to celebrate opening

Riverfront Harley-Davidson will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the motorcycle dealership, 608 N. Second St. in North Lawrence.

The ceremony, organized by the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, will be followed Saturday with festivities that include blues music from Del Skinner, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; motorcycle demo rides from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and other events throughout the day.

A Denim and Leather Gala will be conducted April 14, with proceeds benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association. For ticket information, call the association at (785) 267-6519, or click on www.riverfronthd.com.

The dealership – which opened Dec. 15 and includes sales, service, parts and branded attire and gifts – is owned by Mike Patterson, who also owns Topeka Harley-Davidson.
