Sharon Dwyer, Lawrence, was elected president of the Kansas Rural Water Association at a conference in Wichita last week.

The organization works to enhance public health by education and assisting 775 public water and wastewater utilities in the state.

Dwyer has been business manager of Rural Water District No. 5 in Douglas County since 1981.
