Volunteer wins Cornerstone Award
Marti Butell, a community volunteer, is the September winner of CornerBank’s Community Cornerstone Award.
Butell will be recognized during a public reception at 4:30 p.m. today at the bank, 4621 W. Sixth St. The bank will donate $100 to the Leo Center on her behalf.
Butell is a volunteer for Lawrence Community Theatre, the Leo Center and the Mammography Clinic at LMH South. She also serves as an on-call volunteer at the Watkins Clinic.
She retired in 2003 after a career that included eight years at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and five years at Internal Medicine Group as a medical technologist.
