Dole Institute offers tour of archives
A “white glove” tour of the archives at the Dole Institute of Politics will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Saturday .
“It’s kind of a behind-the-scenes tour of the stacks and the processing area downstairs,” said Judy Sweets, photo archivist. “A lot of people don’t get to see that; they see the exhibits upstairs.”
The “white glove” is a symbolic reference to the care that is taken with the archive materials, Sweets said.
The tour is free, but reservations are recommended.
To make reservations, call 864-1420 or 864-1405 or e-mail asweets@ku.edu.
The tours are given monthly at the museum on Kansas University’s west campus.
