A barbecue fundraiser will be Sept. 23 at Clinton Lake Museum in Bloomington Park.

Bluegrass and country music bands will perform, and people are invited to bring their lawn chairs. A $10 per plate donation is suggested. The menu will be whole-hog barbecue, baked beans, coleslaw, various homemade desserts and iced tea and lemonade. The event starts at 6 p.m.

The barbecue is the latest in a series of events to raise funds for a new museum that would be built on the west side of the museum grounds. The Clinton Lake Historical Society is trying to raise at least $500,000 for the project.
