Health fair to offer free screenings, raffle

Health Care Access Clinic, 1920 Moodie Road, will host a health fair Saturday.

The public event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. will include free health screenings and a raffle. Staff members hope it will bring more attention to the clinic.

“We just want people to be aware of the help they can get. Even if they don’t have health insurance, there’s a place to go to get the help they need,” said Tu Le, a Kansas University community health student and intern for the clinic.

The fair will feature activities for children and fire trucks.

The clinic has helped provide health care for Douglas County residents who cannot afford health insurance since 1988.
