Clydesdale horses coming to Lawrence

Anheuser-Busch’s famous Clydesdale horses are set to prance through downtown Lawrence on Friday.

O’Malley Beverage, Lawrence’s Budweiser distributor, is bringing the horses to town as part of a promotional tour scheduled for the week in Kansas City, Kan.

The Budweiser Clydesdales will hitch up about 4 p.m. at the city parking lot across the street from the Lawrence Visitor Center at Locust and North Second streets.

They will then travel over the bridge onto Massachusetts Street, to the Douglas County Courthouse steps and back to the lot.

Lawrence Police will block off much of the parade route during that time. The parade downtown is expected to begin about 5 p.m.
