Firebird soccer falls

? The Free State High boys soccer team couldn’t break through for its first win of the season Tuesday, falling 3-0 to top-ranked Olathe Northwest at the College Boulevard Activities Center.

“We played well at times, but had some breakdowns at times, and they punished us for the mistakes,” said Free State coach Jason Pendleton.

Pendleton cited Travis Everett, Andrew Heck, Kyle Ceesay and Daniel Gilroy for their play in the loss.

The Firebirds (0-3) will return to action at 7 p.m. Thursday at Shawnee Mission North.
