Cool and foggy start, but warm and sunny later

Commuters faced a cool and foggy start this morning. Temperatures were in the 40s and patchy fog was reducing visibility in low-lying areas, said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“You want at least a sweatshirt, maybe a jacket,” Schack said. “I think all the fog will be gone by 9 a.m.”
At 7:15 a.m., the temperature was 46 degrees, the humidity was 100 percent and winds were out of the northwest at 5 mph, Schack said. The average low temperature for this date is 60 degrees. The record low was 40 degrees, set in 1902.
Skies were expected to be sunny today, with the temperature climbing to a high of 79 degrees later this afternoon. Winds will be out of the north at 5 to 10 mph, Schack said.
The average high temperature for this date is 82 degrees. The record high was 100 degrees, set in 1956.
Overnight, the temperature will drop to a low of 51 degrees by early Thursday morning, Schack said. Thursday’s high will be 84 degrees, with stronger winds moving in from the south at 10 to 18 mph, she said.
Friday’s morning low will be 60 degrees, with Friday’s high climbing to 85 degrees and a chance for storms on Friday, she said.
