Lee’s Summit, Mo. ? The Free State High volleyball team split its four matches Saturday at the Lee’s Summit West Invitational.

The Firebirds opened with a 25-20, 25-11 victory over Kansas City (Mo.) O’Hara, followed by a 25-18, 25-18 loss to Blue Valley North.

Free State (5-2) rebounded with a 25-23, 17-25, 25-22 victory over Park Hill (Mo.) before falling, 25-13, 25-13, to Roeland Park Miege.

The Firebirds will return to action Thursday at Shawnee Mission South.
