Temperatures to climb into 70s

No rain in sight until Saturday night

Open the windows and enjoy the cool weather.

“It looks like we’ll stay in the 70s again,” said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist. “It will remain beautiful again this afternoon.”

Schack said today’s high temperature will climb to 79 degrees, with only a few clouds moving through. The average high for this date is 86 degrees, she said.

“Plenty of sunshine will persist through the afternoon.” she said. Winds will be light and out of the north, she said.

You might need some long sleeves this morning, she said.

At 7:30 a.m., Lawrence Municipal Airport’s temperature was 53 degrees, the humidity was 93 percent and winds were out of the northwest at 7 mph.

Tonight’s temperature will fall to 54 degrees by early Wednesday morning. Wednesday’s high will climb to 82 degrees, she said.

Thursday’s morning low will be 56 degrees, with the high climbing to 84 degrees Thursday afternoon.

The next chance for rain is on Saturday night, Schack said.
