Not so prestigious

To the editor:

I was amused to see that Kansas University law school paid Justice Antonin Scalia over $14,000 to teach a two-week course in constitutional law in Istanbul. Hiring Antonin Scalia to teach constitutional law is like hiring Attila the Hun to teach urban renewal.

According to this year’s U.S. News & World Report ranking of the nation’s top 100 law schools, KU law school was grouped in a seven-way tie for 70th place, right up there with such stalwarts as Lewis and Clark School of Law and the University of Denver. With this pathetic showing, I would humbly suggest that the university could find far better ways to expend its shrinking revenues.
