Engineering chapter elects new officers

Two Lawrence residents are among leaders elected to serve during 2006-2007 in the Topeka Chapter of the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers, which covers Topeka, Lawrence and Emporia.

The two residents are Ed Thornton, secretary, who is a field engineer for the Kansas Department of Transportation in Topeka; and Stacey Lamer, chapter director, who is a project engineer for Bartlett & West Engineers Inc. in Lawrence.

Other officers elected:

¢ Ed Sexe, president, is market manager for Cretex Midwest in Shawnee. He lives in Topeka.

¢ Scott Uhl, vice president, is senior project manager for Bartlett & West Engineers Inc. in Topeka, where he lives.

¢ Mike Morrissey, treasurer, is a project manager for Poe & Associates in Topeka, where he lives.

¢ Brian Armstrong, state director, is a senior project manager for Bartlett & West Engineers Inc. in Topeka, where he lives.

Chapter members will meet at 7 a.m. Sept. 20 at Topeka Country Club, 2700 S.W. Buchanan St. in Topeka. Norton N. Bonaparte Jr., city manager and chief executive for the city of Topeka, will provide a public works update.
