No silk purse
To the editor:
In reference to the Wal-Mart spokeswoman’s comments in the Oct. 23 Journal-World: “We have worked hard to preserve the land and provide additional landscaping to make it as nice as can be.” I am reminded of a saying my elderly mother is fond of using. Perhaps you’ve heard it: “You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.”
