City’s loss

To the editor:

The city of Lawrence has lost another great destination for our out-of-town visitors. Chef Krause offered a unique dining experience that will be difficult to replace. It's a shame that the City Commission and the East Lawrence Neighborhood Assn. could not see the benefits to our community from this truly unique small business. Maybe Lawrence is ready for a Hooters restaurant downtown.

It is NOT lost - they are in the process of getting a special use permit, and they will be able to operate their business again.

i took his plea as heartfelt until he went gradeschool on the last sentence. i don't think he did the krause's any favors, there.

I'm kind of surprised there isn't a Hooter's here. And a Red Lobster. Not that I'd go, I'm just surprised is all.

before a hooters could come to lawrence, need to get architectural exemption for all those massive projections! structural engineering task critical.

Even the Krauses will enjoy some wangs and beer every onced in a while after the new Hooters finally opens.
