Peoples Bank sets art unveiling

Peoples Bank will unveil its new Iron Works Community Sculpture during a ceremony at 2 p.m. Friday at the bank’s 4831 W. Sixth St. location.

The sculpture, created by artist Stan Herd, features personal artifacts and other items brought in by bank customers. Among the stuff turned into art: a golf club, farm tools and an old toy airplane.

Earlier this year, Herd created a mural unveiled during Peoples’ five-year anniversary celebration.

Peoples has 14 locations in northeast Kansas and northern New Mexico, offering banking, wealth management and mortgage services.
