Tickets on sale for Friday’s crosstown high school football clash

Lions, Firebirds play at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Haskell Stadium

Tickets are being sold early for Friday’s annual football battle between the Lawrence High Chesty Lions and Free State High Firebirds.

The game – the 10th meeting of the crosstown rivals – will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Haskell Stadium.

LHS is the home team, so Free State student and individual/family activity passes will not be accepted at the game, according to LHS officials.

Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for K-12 students.

Advance football tickets will be sold during the following times:

¢ Monday through Thursday: 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the finance office at LHS.

¢ Tuesday and Wednesday evenings: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. during parent/teacher conferences at Free State.

¢ Wednesday and Thursday evenings: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. during LHS parent/teacher conferences

Senior citizens who are 62 and older and living in Douglas County will be admitted to the game at no charge with an identification.

Lawrence School District 497 identification badges will be accepted for all school district employees.
