Lawrence commuter report

The following construction projects may affect commuter traffic in the region this week:

¢ Interstate 70, from the East Topeka to Lecompton exits, widening project under way.

¢ Bridge repair on U.S. Highway 59 as it crosses over Big Slough Creek north of Oskaloosa.

¢ Intermittent lane closures south of Lansing because of road reconstruction.

¢ Interstate 35 at 87th Street, several ramps closed because of bridge construction. Commuters should use 95th Street if traveling north on Interstate 35 or 75th Street if traveling south.

The following ongoing construction projects may affect city traffic this week:

¢ The bridge over the Kansas Turnpike on Kasold Drive, north of Peterson Road, will be closed because of reconstruction.

¢ Work on sanitary sewer pump stations in north Lawrence may create traffic impacts on North, Grant or Walnut streets.

¢ Various lane closures because of milling and overlays will occur on New Hampshire, near the intersections of Sixth and Seventh streets and the intersection of Massachusetts and Sixth streets.

¢ Waterline installation will restrict traffic between 15th Street and Random Road on Wedgewood Drive.

¢ Waterline installation will restrict traffic on Fair Lane west of Maple Lane.

¢ Road construction will restrict traffic on 30th Street at Gill Avenue, weather permitting.

¢ Kasold Drive, between 22nd Street and Bob Billings Parkway, will be reduced to one lane of traffic. The speed limit has been reduced to 20 mph to provide a safe work environment.

¢ Road construction will restrict traffic on Eighth Street at Chouteau Court, weather permitting.

¢ Road construction will restrict traffic on Bob Billings Parkway at Research Park Drive, weather permitting.
