Two stabbed in fight outside night club
Police question two men after early-morning fracas at 24th Street bar
Police on Friday questioned two people and were looking for two others in connection with a brawl outside a night club that sent two people to the hospital with stab wounds.
At least two people were stabbed and a third suffered head injuries in the fight about 1:50 a.m. Friday outside Liquid, 804 W. 24th St.
Police say the fight involved up to nine people and that alcohol was a factor. But they didn’t say Friday what caused the fight to start.
The two known stabbing victims were Edward Mitchell, 21, Lawrence, who was flown to a Kansas City hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, and William Mitchell, 20, who went to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with “multiple stab wounds to the torso.”
Doug Harvey, 22, Lawrence, was taken to LMH with head injuries.
Condition updates on the men were not available Friday.
Two other men, James Green, 19, and Harlan Masqua, 20, Lawrence, refused medical treatment at the scene.
Police on Friday morning said they were questioning two men, ages 18 and 22, who were found two blocks from the scene of the fight.
More information
Records indicate that two Lawrence men were booked into jail Friday morning on suspicion of aggravated battery, but no other details were available late Friday.
Police also said they’d identified two other participants in the fight with the help of surveillance video and were trying to find them Friday.
